| The Ford EcoBoost (formerly the Twin-Force) debuts at
2008 Detroit Auto Show. You may have heard bits and
pieces about the Twin-Force name used here and there,
mainly the secret weapon that should see the Lincoln MKS
within the year, but what is it exactly? The new series
of refreshed Duratecs and potentially new engines show a
lot of promise to what we should see in the near future.
We'll break down what Ford has told us, and what we think
might happen with the new line of direct injection
engines. Click Read

| Alan Mulally says Ford Motor Co. will
dramatically reduce its vehicle complexity to cut costs
and make ordering easier for customers. Ford vehicles
will have fewer options and more standard features. The
simplified lineup is under way, and Ford will build on it
every year with every model. Does this mean that
a Ford Fusion SEL should have the SE price tag due to
reduced complexity? Read more at Autonews.com.

it up nicely here.

Ever since GM has given the green
light to the first production plug-in hybrid, other
automakers have expressed a great deal of interest in
pushing forward with the idea. Both Honda and Toyota said
it was too soon, but Ford has been experimenting with the
idea all along. Yesterday Ford trademarked it's plug-in
hybrid technology as the "Ford Extend." In the
next few weeks we will see more accurate numbers and
specs for the upcoming Ford Fusion Hybrid. From what we
know, it will carry many similarities with the Ford
Escape Hybrid.
Now if you think that isn't much for news. Rumor has
it that Hymotion has expressed interest in the Ford Fusion
Hybrid. Hymotion develops and sells kits for the Escape
that combine a fair price and very minimal change to the
vehicle. Come back for more information to unfold about
the Fusion Hybrid and the Plug-In kits.

| What was supposed to take decades to hack can now take less than a day. KeeLoq is a cipher used in several car anti-theft mechanisms distributed by Microchip Technology Inc. It may protect your car if you own a Chrysler, Daewoo, Fiat, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volvo, Volkswagen, or Jaguar. The cipher is included in the remote control device that opens and locks your car and that activates the anti-theft mechanisms. Aside from Jaguar and Volvo which is on Fords trading block, it seems like we found another reason to ask our insurance rep to lower our premiums for owning a Ford. | Its Official. The next generation Ford Fusion will be
Part of the Ford One makeover. The EUCD as seen in the
Ford Mondeo, Volvo S80, and upcoming 2009 Mazda 6 will
all welcome the 2010 or 2011 Ford Fusion and Mercury
Milan into the mix. The news was made official yesterday
as Mulally(FoMoCo CEO) made his announcement about Ford
One that included the Focus, Fusion and some news on the
Fiesta and Ford Verve. Although the platform
stabilization is good news, the design teams are a bit
frustrated with the change which in the short run will
lead to breaking away from the 3 bar grille in some
models and countries to the Kinetic look. You can see a
taste of the Kinetic Designs that will be seen mostly in
Europe on the Verve
Preview HERE. Aside from the new Global One news on
the Fusion and Milan, we have yet to hear or see anything
in regards to the platform future of the MKZ. Thanks to Double Vision for the heads up.

| Finally, the 09 Mazda6 pics are starting to show up. Click on the thumb to see Mazda's official release image. The Mazda6 will debut in Frankfurt soon. This Mazda6, unlike the 1st generation, will be based on the EUCD platform and not the CD3 platform like Mazda's roadmap showed just 1 month ago. The Ford Fusion will follow its footsteps, and the 2nd gen Ford Fusion may swap to the EUCD platform before the 3rd generation Fusion and Milan are expected to get the "Ford ONE" treatment. Also note that if in fact we do see the EUCD sooner than later, this also means the other part of Ford One will share not only the same chassis, but we will share more than we have on the CD3.

| When will the 2009 Mazda 6 spoof pictures end? Acura
and Toyota photochops with Mazda logos do not equal new
Mazda6. I saw a headline on a few sites today with what
seemed to be the most convincing news about the 2009
Mazda 6. When I found the origin of this new render, I
knew it was fake as soon as the mentions of the 2009
Mazda6 being based on the Ford Mondeo platform(EUCD) and
not the Mazda 6/Ford Fusion platform(CD3) came across my
eyeballs. update: I guess I was wrong about the EUCD. The 2009 Six and the 2009 Fusion are
speculated to share the 3.5L Duratec V6 and the 2.5L
Duratec I4. If you want to read more about yet another
speculated image, go

| We all know that Ford holds back some very awesome
cars from the US. Eurospec vehicles such as the Mondeo
and Aussie Falcons, and who could forget the impressive
Focus options that stir up a ton of debate among the
compact lover. Now Ford's CEO, Alan Mulally, has
pulled a rabbit out of his hat, showing Americans that he
is serious about listening to the customer. Whether it be
Mually's plan from the get go, or a reaction to quick
declining profits, we aren't sure. But 10 months into the
job, he has gotten a green light on the first Ford Sub-Compact
since 2002 to show up in just over a year on US soil, a
world platform that was supposed to exist for the Mustang
years ago, finally shares the green light many Ford
economists and even some Mustang enthusiasts have been
waiting for. Last but not least, Ford of Australia and maybe
Tickford will expand their impressive R&D base over
to the Duratec platforms. Very exciting stuff, and you

more here.
