| Steeda's new Ford Fusion 2.3L i4 Intake(Mercury Milan
i4 intake as well) comes with many improvements over the
original. For those who use the stock tune, Steeda claims
some dyno tests are showing a 12HP peak gains with strong
gains throughout lower RPMs as well. Remove the insert
and use a custom tune to unlock more power. The specs
may be off a bit, or they may not. We are waiting
for more confirmation, although Steeda has been fair and
accurate with its performance numbers in the past. Click
here to go to Steeda's website for more information.

| The Ford EcoBoost (formerly the Twin-Force) debuts at
2008 Detroit Auto Show. You may have heard bits and
pieces about the Twin-Force name used here and there,
mainly the secret weapon that should see the Lincoln MKS
within the year, but what is it exactly? The new series
of refreshed Duratecs and potentially new engines show a
lot of promise to what we should see in the near future.
We'll break down what Ford has told us, and what we think
might happen with the new line of direct injection
engines. Click Read

| It has been brought to my attention that a small shop
is making a one time batch of lightweight accessory
pulleys for the Mazda6. If any of the 6i or 6s pulleys
are the same as on the Fusion/Milan, we could have
ourselves a cheap 5-6whp. If anyone can confirm or deny
this, please let us know. But if you want to give it a
shot, and look at Medieval's pulleys, then go right ahead.
The bad news is that these pulleys are a one time deal.
But the good news is that there will be plenty of Mazda6
owners that might miss out on this, and may be willing to
purchase them from you in the future. Maybe even for more
than what you paid for them.

| A University study done to see what blend of gasoline
and ethanol can give the best results. The Ford Fusion
showed a 1% increase in fuel economy using E30 over Tier
II(E10 in most areas) gasoline. Before you go off
trying to mix your own E30 into your Fusion, bare in mind
that this study was done with these cars at the disposal
of the University of North Dakota, and not with daily
drivers. You can read more about the study here. [Greencarcongress.com]

| Interesting concept over at CWW
Cardesign of a Ford Fusion Compact. This hatchback
looks to carry over the signature front end styling with
what looks to be a VW Golf hatch of some sort.
Nevertheless the concept is thinking outside of the box,
and many of us would like to see another variation added
to the plate.

| TOGA!! TOGA!! Ford is having a toga party. Update:
Oops, Ford is not having a Toga Party. Instead
we have heard something interesting about VOGA in the
rumor mill.
Last week, Ford announced that it will be going fourth
with a Mercury Mariner VOGA trim. A big step that some
call, a reward for Mercury beating expectations in 2007.
What does this mean for the Mercury Milan? Click read

| Boeing will power its new UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle)
with a Ford Fusion engine. Ford has developed a
multi-stage-turbocharged engine - based on the engine
used in the Ford Fusion - for Boeing's UAV project.
Boeing is looking at a military HALE with a seven-day-plus
endurance and a 2,000-pound payload; Aurora is working on
its single-engine Orion HALL (High Altitude Long Loiter)
both as an engine test platform and as a research vehicle.

Lincoln Continental, cut emissions by 80%, and double the
horsepower. Does the car business have the guts to follow
him? An interesting read about the latest project
car ideas in the Goodwin shop. Thanks to Jon for the
